Our Team
Janine Panker, DNP, PMHNP-BC
I am a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and the founder of Statera Behavioral Health. My practice is built around the belief that psychiatric care should be personalized because no two people are exactly alike.
I earned both my Master of Science in Nursing and Doctor of Nursing Practice degrees from Duke University, specializing in psychiatric mental health, after studying Psychology at Stony Brook University and earning my nursing degree from Farmingdale State College.
Since beginning my healthcare career in 2008, I've had the opportunity to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds and across a variety of clinical settings. Those experiences reinforced my belief that effective treatment requires looking beyond symptoms alone.
My clinical interests include personalized medicine, precision psychiatry, pharmacogenomics, and integrative mental health. I enjoy helping patients understand how factors such as genetics, lifestyle, sleep, nutrition, medical conditions, and life experiences can influence mental health and response to treatment. Rather than relying on a one-size-fits-all approach, I strive to help patients make informed decisions based on their unique circumstances, goals, and biology.
In addition to my clinical practice, I serve as consulting faculty and a clinical preceptor for psychiatric nurse practitioner students, helping to educate the next generation of mental health providers.
I founded Statera Behavioral Health in 2021 to create the kind of practice where there is time to ask deeper questions, think thoughtfully about treatment options, and provide care that is individualized, evidence-based, and centered on helping people feel heard and understood.
